Project Description
Anomaly is a high-stakes PvPvE extraction shooter built for VR, where up to 12 players fight through a
disaster-stricken
city, battle unearthly creatures, and outsmart rival squads to secure valuable loot before extracting.
With deep weapon
customization, strategic decision-making, and intense multiplayer encounters, Anomaly delivers an
immersive and
adrenaline-fueled experience.
Developing Anomaly involved overcoming unique challenges in VR optimization, networking, and AI,
ensuring smooth
performance on mobile VR hardware while maintaining engaging, fast-paced gameplay.

My Contributions
While working on Anomaly, I focused on key aspects of UI systems, AI behavior, and networking to enhance
the game’s
real-time multiplayer experience.
- UI & Backend: Designed and implemented modular UI components for scalability and
reusability.
Developed a style-sheet system to streamline design iteration and worked on core systems such as
Vendor,
Character Customization, and HUD. Led the localization effort for the entire project and resolved
various
UI-related bugs.
- AI Development: Implemented HTN-based AI behavior using
fluid-hierarchical-task-network,
improving enemy decision-making based on auditory and visual memory. Developed systems for enemy
perception,
target acquisition, aggro management, and state transitions, while fine-tuning behaviors and fixing
AI-related
bugs.
- Networking: Tackled networking-related challenges, including integrating PlayFab
and ensuring
seamless multiplayer synchronization with Photon Fusion.
- Art Integration: Integrated avatar models and hand poses to align with character
customization
and animations.
- World & Scene Management: Standardized open-world scene organization to improve
collaboration
between developers and artists. Optimized scene management by enabling area isolation, mesh
combination, and art
performance improvements.
